Founded in 1952 by a band of grape growers in the Valdobbiadene area, Val d’Oca has grown to become a co-operative of 576 members spread out over 714 hectares of land. The vineyards cover both DOC and DOCG vineyards including plots on the famed Cartizze hillside. Originally set up to provide smaller growers with a sustainable business in difficult financial times, this still rings true today and the co-op works hard to promote the produce of its members and invest in more efficient winemaking practice and techniques. There is one central winery where grapes from all growers are brought to be sorted and selected for different cuves based on their origin, quality level and maturity. Le Rive di Colalberto is a DOCG wine produced from hand-picked grapes from specially selected vineyard sites and is a perfect example of top quality Prosecco – delicate and aromatic with a richly structured palate.
