Since their takeover in 1999, the Frey family have worked hard to shift the wine style of Chateau La Lagune to something more elegant and refined, through a reduction of new oak and focus on quality fruit.
Caroline Frey has worked for many years to put in place a viticultural process that respects the environment, based on organic and biodynamic agriculture. This natural approach, which is adapted for every single parcel, plays a fundamental role in the quality of the wines.
With this spirit of excellence in mind, they produce their flagship Haut Medoc red, alongside the ‘Moulin de La Lagune’ and ‘Mademoiselle L’ wines. The vines are planted on exceptionally gravelly soils, which are perfectly suited to the (mostly) Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown there. Merlot and Petit Verdot are also included in the classic Bordeaux blend. The wines are smooth, refined and luxurious with silky tannins – just what you want from great Bordeaux.
