In 1850 Christian Lanz founded Chile’s first ever winery and named it after his wife, Carmen. Since then, the winery has achieved a host of other industry firsts… In 1994 Carmen rediscovered Carmenere, which was long-thought extinct. It was also first to release a certified organic wine and one of the first to export wines to the UK. This pioneering attitude continues with newly-appointed head winemaker Emily Faulconer (pictured). Emily has held a number of prestigious positions around the world, including Chief Winemaker at Vina Arboleda, where her focus was fine wine.
