A group of wine mad friends got together to discuss the idea that you could make world class wine in your garage (a playful nod to the Bordeaux garagistes) and decided to go back to basics and get their hands dirty – literally. At first volumes of course were tiny and they were happy to make and sell cases to friends and family, until demand started to exceed supply… The wines produced are from grapes purchased from small growers in the Maipo and Maule valleys, with specific focus on old vine Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon, Carignan and Grenache, aged in oak and bottled in recycled glass with lot numbers instead of fancy names. They are truly unique, bold and eclectic wines with wonderful complexity and old vine fruit. Volumes have grown from an initial three barrel vintage but are still, compared to most of their neighbours, tiny.
